Moms try to make good choices for their kids...what food to buy, what meals to make, how much screen time, etc. But unless we put in solar we don’t get a choice about where our electricity comes from. Utilities make all the decisions for us. And with 19% of California’s greenhouse gas emissions coming from our electricity sources, that’s a problem.
For the first time in over a hundred years, cities and counties in California can now offer us a choice by adopting community choice energy. It makes sense to purchase electricity from local renewable sources that don’t require fracking, big expensive pipelines and transmission lines and don’t give kids asthma.
