March with our families in San Francisco on Sat., Sept. 8!

We're excited to march with you in the Families contingent at the Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice march THIS SATURDAY, Sept. 8! We just updated this webpage to include the latest info on when and where to meet and what to bring so you'll be prepared to make history with us!

(1) WHERE TO GO

For people taking our two charter buses from Woodland, CA (sold out):

7:45am:  Meet at the Woodland Target store, 2185 Bronze Star Drive, Woodland (8:00am: Bus departs!)

For people taking our charter bus from San Jose (sold out):

(2) WHAT TO EXPECT

10-11am: We'll pass out Mothers Out Front t-shirts to those who have RSVPed (look for volunteers wearing our special yellow shirts) & we'll have activities for kids to do

11am: Moment of Solidarity: 2 minutes of silence, then a song (learn about it here)

Sections 1 & 2 will march first. Then after Section 2 has departed, our families group will start marching. It's a gentle (mostly flat) 1.75-mile walk to Civic Center Plaza.

12:30/1pm: Arrive & eat your sack lunch

1-3pm: Help make a giant street mural & visit the Resource Fair (with info about Mothers Out Front & many organizations)

2pm: Another Moment of Solidarity: 2 minutes of silence, then a song (learn about it here

(3) GETTING HOME

3pm: Those riding our Mothers Out Front buses, gather with your bus captain to walk together to the west side of 10th St. between Market & Mission to load your bus.

(4) WHAT TO BRING
Bring a water bottle, food, and your painting clothes! For young kids, consider bringing a stroller or wagon.
There will be water available, so please bring a refillable water bottle - and snacks/lunch. There is a farmers market in the Ferry Building at Embarcadero Plaza where you can buy food before the march, and there will be many cafes open within a block of the route. The end of the march will be the world’s largest mass street-muraling project, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting splashed with (water-based, non-toxic) paint!

If you haven't already, RSVP below to march with us! And the Rise organizers request that you text "RiseCA" to 83224 so they can text you directly on Saturday with timing & logistics information. See you at the march!
